In years gone by the record companies would have it all sewn up, an artist would need their clout and contacts to get anywhere in the music business .. but since the advent of the internet and social networking it has made success more achievable for an artist with no record deal .. with the help of Bloggers and Tweeters an artist can reach their audience through the new word-of-mouth, Twitter .. Although the average Twitter user has just 115 followers, that number is dragged down by dormant accounts and occasional users .. if you consider the stats that say that the average user that tweets 10 times a day has over 2000 followers then high users will tend to have more .. so how does this effect our artist? Well, if that Tweeter tweets about the artist and half of those people click the link and check them out .. if only half of those people actually buy the album from iTunes at £7.99 with £4 going to the artist, then artist has made £2000 from 1 Tweeter and 1 Tweet!
Now I know there are a few variables in that equation but it was not meant to be a watertight business model to present to the Dragons, but merely to make the point that the potential is there.. when it comes to getting their music to the masses is the power of the Blogger and the Tweeter the future for the struggling artist?

I am hoping to debut 3 new songs on the night of the Ealing Tweetup, Tuesday 26th October .. The new songs are called You Make Everything Beautiful, Everytime You Speak Her Name and a reworked old song called Lost Lovers Parade ... These songs are added to Last Will & Testiment, which was written after the release of the Strawberry Hill album earlier this year and is already getting great attention on the live gigs, there is now a growing list of new songs in preparation of a possible follow up album ahead of schedule ...
